Monty Claw is a Navajo artist from the Gallup area of New Mexico. Monty began his jewelry journey in 2011, and is mostly a self taught artist with some studies from The Institute Of American Indian Arts. Monty mainly works now with precious metals creating wonderful works of wearable art. His jewelry creations are usually silver, but sometimes he works in gold, and when used he only works with the finest gems from around the world. Monty has also received awards for his jewelry at the Santa Fe Indian Market, The Heard show, and the Cherokee Art Market in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Monty hand carved the geometric design for this ring onto a tufa stone and poured molten silver into the cast to yield this amazing work of wearable art. Monty completed it with a light oxidation and a high shine. This ring is a size 8 The face of this ring measures 3/4 inch and tapers down to 7/16 inch.
